We are delighted to announce Dr Jesse LeCavalier as one of the jurors for our #mOOO4 competition A.D.A.P.T .
Jesse is associate professor of architecture at the University of Toronto and was recently the Daniel Rose Visiting Assistant Professor at the Yale School of Architecture. He is interested in exploring the architectural and urban implications of contemporary logistics, and his work has been published and exhibited widely.
He is the author of The Rule of Logistics: Walmart and the Architecture of Fulfillment (University of Minnesota Press, 2016) which examines the activities of the international retailer to tell a larger story about the ways the logistics industry has developed at different scales and through the emergence of particular technologies.
LeCavalier’s essay, “The Restlessness of Objects,” was the recipient of a 2013 Core77 Design Award and his installation “Architectures of Fulfillment” was part of the 2017 Seoul Biennale for Architecture and Urbanism.
His project “Shelf Life” was one of five finalists for the 2018 MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program and had been on display at the Museum of Modern Art in the summer of 2018.
