We are honoured to have Ms. Christine Choi joining #mOOO6 Jury Panel!

As a co-founder of JWCC Architecture established in Macau in 2010, the multidisciplinary studio has grown the team and expanded their works from small scale private residential works to hotels and public projects. With the wide rounded architectural experience across education, residential, heritage, and public projects, along with her Master of Commence specialised in Organisational Management provides Christine the expertise to co-lead the studio with a forward-thinking approach.

The studio has been recognized with different awards and recognitions as well as personal achievements recognitions for the co-founds Christine Choi and Jimmy Wardhana where both interests in the exploration of Architectural Culture and its associated social themes for the community, their Macau Patio research has won them first place and as the curator for the Macau Pavilion in the 7th Shenzhen and Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture 2017.

Outside the studio’s works, Christine continues her architecture learning journey through local and international architecture community engagements. Her active participation in ArcAsia and UIA provides her with the consistent information for the latest international profession knowledge and thinking approach, which builds her foundation to; Think Global and Act Local.

She aspires to continue promote the advancement of the Macau Architecture industry through knowledge sharing in all levels. Her contributions to the local profession were well recognized and was elected as the President of Board of Directors for AAM (Architects Association of Macau) for 2019-2021 and recently re-elected to continue her Presidency role for 2021-2023. She deeply appreciates the recognitions and put heavy focus on promoting architecture excellences and the importance on the roles of Architects.

Christine is a registered Architect with experience working in practices in Sydney Australia prior to her return to Macau in 2010.

We are honoured to have Ms. Michela Falcone joining #mOOO6 Jury Panel!

Michela is an architect and an educator that has worked as an architect in internationally renowned practices that includes Shigeru Ban, UN Studio and Zaha Hadid Architects. 

Michela currently Course Leader for Interior and Spatial Design programme at Buckinghamshire University and First Year tutor at the Architectural Association. She curates the web platform Experimental Architecture. Her work has been featured in international press and her installation work has been exhibited in the Lyon Biennale and Rome Open House among others. She is a regular guest critic in UK, Swiss and China and she has given lectures in Edinburgh School of Architecture and Quasar Institute of Design in Rome. She has been nominated juror of international architectural competitions and she has lead workshops in Italy, France and China. Her main research pursues an emotive architecture, inspired by human psyche and cultural context and focused on interaction between built environment and nature. She is specialised in complex geometry and digital methodologies applied across scales.

We are honoured to have Mr. Jan Clostermann joining #mOOO6 Jury Panel!

Jan Clostermann is an award-winning architect from Germany and the Founding Director of CLOU. Following his architectural studies at the Technical University of Berlin, Jan received his Diploma in 2001 from the Architectural Association in London.

Before founding CLOU in 2015, Jan collaborated with Alsop Architects in London, Rotterdam, and Singapore, establishing their Beijing offices to design and deliver Raffles City Beijing, and in 2010 co-founding Spark Architects. 

Over more than 20 years, he has designed more than 2 million square meters of high-profile mixed-use and retail projects. 

A frequent speaker at academic and industry forums, Jan is leading a new generation of creative yet commercially minded architects. He continues to push for architecture that performs better socially, environmentally, and economically.

mOOO5 architecture design competitions charity donation to ROTA

mOOO5 architecture competition results have been published! mOOO team would like to thank all competition jurors, contestants, great design entries, and videos. As part of the competition initiative, £133 has been donated towards ROTA, Race on the Agenda. Rota is a social policy research organisation that focuses on issues impacting on black, asian and minority ethnic communities. Their policy priorities are mental health, education and criminal justice.

Mr. Tolulope Onabolu

Teaching Fellow in Architecture at the University of Edinburgh

We are honoured to have Mr. Tolulope Onabolu joining #mOOO5 Jury Panel!

Tolulope explores the use of architectural visualization in the speculation of urban scenarios and in the reconceptualization of lost architectural heritage. He is interested in the role of architecture in the conditioning of human subjectivity, the sanctioning of the architect by sovereign prerogative, and the dangers of aesthetic agenda as political device.

In his research and lived experience, reinforced by the work of Alain Badiou, Giorgio Agamben, Michel Foucault, and Georges Bataille, he has queried the logics of belonging, inclusion, exclusion, and consumption as spatio-political practices.

Through his studio teaching, he finds direct correlation in horror fiction and speculative realism on the issues of foreignness and alterity and uses their narrative forms to lay bare the explicitly political structure of spatial practices in architecture and the built environment. In addition, he interrogates the consumption of architecture and its representation through computational practice.

He has taught across various design and theory courses at the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture ESALA and has delivered projects across the UK and Nigeria. His work has been profiled at the Venice Biennale and the London Festival of Architecture.

We are honoured to have Ms. Rosa Rogina joining #mOOO5 Jury Panel!

Rosa is an architect, researcher and curator currently working as a programme Director at London Festival of Architecture, leading on curation and delivery of the festival’s annual programme. Since 2017, she also runs a design studio at the University of East London. She has previously worked for some of the world’s leading architectural practices including MVRDV, Grimshaw Architects and Farshid Moussavi Architecture. Rosa has co-curated the Montenegrin Pavilion at the 2018 Venice Biennale and has been curator in residence at Vienna Design Week 2020.⁠

Rosa obtained her MA degree in architecture at the Royal College of Art. She also⁠ holds MA in Research Architecture from Goldsmiths, University of London where she has investigated how can we employ architectural theory and practice as means of⁠ engaging with global matters of concern.

We are honoured to have Ms. Lykke Pedersen joining #mOOO5 Jury Panel!

Ms. Lykke Pedersen is the president of the Danish Astronautical Society since 2016.  She has also been the editor of the magazine Danish Spaceflight since 2014.  She has a background in music, computer science, physics and innovation. From 2018 to 2020, she was the project lead of the exhibit “Around the Moon” at Rundetaarn (the Round Tower), a public astronomical observatory in Copenhagen.⁠

We are honoured to have Mr. Harbinder Singh Birdi joining #mOOO5 Jury Panel!

Harbinder is a chartered architect and a member of the previous Architects’ Journal 40 under 40 list. He is a fellow of several esteemed organisations, including the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Institution of Civil Engineers, in recognition of his ongoing mentorship of new talent in architecture, and for his expertise in the design and delivery of major infrastructure projects.⁠

⁠Harbinder is currently delivering architectural designs for two of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects: Thames Tideway, and three new stations at Tottenham Court Road, Bond Street and Liverpool Street for Crossrail 1 The Elizabeth Line. He led the design for a £600 million upgrade of Tottenham Court Road station for London Underground and, in collaboration with Croydon Council, developed the innovative design for East Croydon station bridge – known as the first structure launched across an operational railway.⁠

Harbinder also has extensive experience working with artists. At Tottenham Court Road he integrated the greatest-ever number of in-situ artworks within a London Underground station, collaborating with noted contemporary artists Daniel Buren, Douglas Gordon, and Richard Wright.⁠

⁠Bringing his expertise to a broader audience, Harbinder provides guidance on major infrastructure projects and public realm schemes as a member of the Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Advisory Panel and the HS2 Independent Design Review Panel, as well as sitting on design review panels for Camden, Croydon, Ealing, and Old Oak Common.
